Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) «■•> tinder: — WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER IS. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Albion, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, Sydney and Brisbane, p"r Hero, at 1.50 p m.; late fee letters at 2.10 p.m. ; guard's ran, 2.40 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Jane Douglas, at 320 p.m.; late fee letters at 3.30 p.m. ; guard's ran, 4.5 p.m. train. For Fiji, to connect with s.s. Southern Cross at Auckland, by Botorua, on September 16fch. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), will close at Christchurch on September 22nd at 7 a.m. This mail will be due in London on November 11th.
