The president of the Unitarian Church has offered Prootor tho use of his church to lecture in on Sunday next. A forty-ounoe nugget was found in a claim at Lower Temora. Payable gold has been found on Soldier's Flat, on the Twelve-Mile range. It is estimated that one claim's yield is £lO sterling weekly per man. In the Victorian Assembly yesterday, it was stated that Mr Ford, recently re-appointed engineer of construction, was a few years ago only a journeyman blaoksmith. His competence for the position was strongly questioned, although he might he a clover mechanic. Dr.L. L. Smith having moved that Government should guarantee ten per cent, to steamship companies bringing passengers to the Exhibition at reduced fares, under certain conditions, Mr Berry replied that he believed the Exhibition would be a success without such invitations. Several colonial Governments have sent representatives to attend a Conference during the Exhibition to consider the Chinese question.

The wreck of the Eric the Bed sold to-day. Hundred and ten pounds of Gersohell, of Carlton's cargo sold to-day, stated to be worth £40,000, and about £2OOO worth have been rocovered.

The following Bills introduced in the Assembly were read a first time :—Constitutional Reform, Abolition of Plural Voting, Establishment of Savings Banks in Connecnection with State Schools, Reduction of Salaries of Governors and Ministers of the Crown, Abolition of Mining Boards.
