[reuteb's telegrams.] LONDON, September 11. Mr Gladstone's Recovery. Mr Gladstone has caused a letter to be published, expressing thanks for the universal sympathy shown during his recent illness. Anstro-German AffairsAn interview has been held between Prince Bismarck and Baron von Haymerle, the Austro-Hungarian Minister for Foreign Affairs, which is expected to result in a closer alliance between Germany and Austria. The question of the future of Roumania was discussed by Prince Bismarck and the Austrian Minister, and they agreed to favor the formation of that principality into a neutral kingdom. Wool Sales. Twenty-six thousand nailers in Stafford shire and the surrounding districts have struck. The Australian CricketersThe cricket match, Australians v Eighteen of the Clydesdale Cluh, was resumed at Glasgow to-day. The Home team continued their first innings, but were not disposed of till they scored 224. The Australians then went to the wickets, but only succeeded in putting together 111. Being 113 behind their opponents they had to follow on, and in their second innings, when time was called, had lost one wicket for 47 runs. The match, therefore, was drawn in favor of the Glasgow team. The weather was showery during both days' play. LONDON, September 12. Another Railway AccidentA serious railway accident occurred at Vauxhall to-day. Two trains came into collision, and thirty-four passengers were killed and wounded. CALCUTTA, September 13. Advance of General Roberts. General Roberts' third brigade has marched to Pisheen, on the road to Bolan Pass, from Candahar. Military Rewards. General Roberts has been appointed Commander -in - Chief of the Madras army.

BERLIN, September 12. August MovementsThe Imperial Prince of Auatro-Hun-gary pays a visit to this city shortly. CONSTANTINOPLE. September 11. The Turkish Embroglio. The announcement made at the beginning of the week that the Albanians bad agreed to the cession of Dulcigno to Montenegro is now proved to have been premature. The Albanians are still hostile, and frequent collisions occur with the Turks. The cession therefore is still further delayed. The Turkish Ministry has resigned. September 12. The Sultan has issued an Imperial irade dismissing Kadri Pasha, and appointing Saidi Pasha President of the Council of State, which it is hoped will bring about a peaceful solution of the Eastern Question. MADRID, September 11. A National Item. Her Majesty the Queen of Spain has given birth to a Princess. CALCUTTA, September 11. Troubles in Herat. News has been received that an insurrection has broken out at Herat, and the Governor of the town has been murdered by the rebels.
