MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Pont Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14. For Northern Provinces, per Taiaroa, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Jane Douglas, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters at 3.30 p.m. ; guard’s van, 4.5 p.m. train. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Albion, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Fiji, to connect with s.s. Southern Cross at Auckland, by Rotorua, on September 16tb. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), will close at Christchurch on September 22nd at 7 a.m. This mail will bo due in London on November 11th.
