MIDLAND CANTERBURY CRICKET CLUB.
Tho annual general meeting of the above club was held at Cookson's City Hotel on Saturday evening. Present Messrs Q-. Mclntyre (chairman), Watson, Eowler, Beard, Fuller, McDonnell, Morico, Atack, Alpe, Palniret, and several others. The Hon. Secretary read the report, which stated that the outstanding liability of £lB to the association cauaed by the defalcations of a former treasurer had been paid off. The committee congratulated the members on their perseverance in having pulled tho club through its difficulties, and considered that they were fortunate in having a president who took Buoh. an interest in the club, and whoso handsome donation had greatly assisted in placing their affairs on a satisfactory footing. The report referred to the meetings held by tho committee, and callad attention to the fact that although several members had not paid their subscriptions, the club had paid their capitation to the association, amounting to 30s per head. The committee had in consequence revised the rule relating to subscriptions, which must now be paid before playing on the ground. The Treasurer then read the balance-sheet, which showed a credit balance in favor of the club of £6 7s 4d, and assets £l2 14j 4d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected—Mr W. H. Wynn Williams, president; vice-presi-
dont, Mr J. B. Hill; hoD. secretary, Mr E T. A. Fullor ; hon. treasurer, Mr O. Palairet ; committee, Mesßrs E. 'J?. McDonnell, J. Fowler, F. H. Morioe, G. Watson, E. Williamß, G. Mclntyre, and W. H. Atack. Delegates to association, Messrs C. Palairet and F. H. Morice; captain of the club, Mr E. T. A. Fuller; captain second eleven, Mr W. H. Atack; match committee, Meßsrs Fuller, McDonnoll, and Watson ; junior match com mittee, Messrs Atack, Fairhurst, and Hunt-. It was proposed by Mr J. Fowler, and carried—" That a vote of thanks be accorded to Messrs W. H. Wynn Williams, J. R. Hill, and E. Oookson, for their munifioent donations to the club."
On the motion of Mr Alpe, a vote of thanks to past officers was passed. The following new active members were elected - Messrs A. Dunbar, J. Foulke, J. Wood, W. Frith, W. E. Buchanan, E. Kitchin, H. Gretton, J. Hopper, W. H. Smith, J. A. Orosbie, and K. Bill; hon. member, Mr I/. Bergh. The Secretary pointed out to tho meeting that there wore several members who had not paid their subscriptions, and seeing that the club had paid their capitation fee, £1 each, he thought the best way to close tho matter would be to put rule 12 in force. After discussion the following resolution was carried unanimously—" That tho names of tho members as mentioned in the treasurer's report, whose subscriptions are -unpaid, be struck of the list of members of the club." Mr Morice moved—" That the attention of members bo called to the rule relative to tho uniform of the club, and that they bo requested to provide themselves with the same, in accordance therewith," which was carried. After a vote of thanks to the chair the meeting terminated.
