I do hereby declare that the above statement is true and accurate in all particulars stated by me, according to the best of my judgment and belief. Dated this day of , 1880. Signature— It the liabilities on landed property exceeds its value the balance may be deducted from the value of other taxable property. The time for sending in returns has been extended to October 15th, as it was found on careful calculation to be impossible to depend on getting them in earlier, for it is very probable that a further extension to October 31st will subsequently bo accorded. I hear that over thirty thousand of the old schedules have come in filled up very satisfactorily, intelligently, and intelligibly, great pains evidently being taken by property owners to supply all the required information. Nearly all these, as well as a vast quantity of printed forms, are now of course so much waste paper.
