Mb Charles Clark reports the following sales : —SO acres unimproved land at Malvern Hills at £3 10s per acre; 17J- acres at Southbridge for .£7OO cash; 170 acres at Governor’s Bay for .£2OOO cash. This lot sold in conjunetion with Messrs Matson and Co. Open section on the Windmill road and house and land at Pbillipatown for .£355 cash. The latter property was advertised for sale by auction on the Bth instant, 't here is an increased demand for most classes of property, but the ideas of price bet *een vendors and inquirers are so wide in the majority of cases as to prevent business. Purchasers are plentiful, but the prices _ of owners are in many cases quite prohibitive. He has a large auction sale of properties on the Btk and 9th inst , when the new and very important suburb of Bryndwr, on the Fendaltown road, will bo offered ; also, about 60 acres in the Heathcote Valley (on account of a former purchaser), house and land in Walker street, &c. The demand for money on mortgage is not so brisk ; he has invested several large sums at 8 per cent , and has several largo amounts in hand for Investment, The demand for houses'to let is somewhat diminished, several really good houses aud cottages remaining on hand and unlet.
