PIONEER BICYCLE CLUB.
The annual meeting of the members of the above was held last night at the Commercial Hotel. Two new members were elected, and the following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year : —President, Mr E. O. J. Stevens, M.H.R.; captain, Mr B. O. Farr ; sub-captain, Mr T. Soarell; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr H. C. F. Clarke ; committee, Messrs G. E. Dalton, O. F. Norris, G. W. Fox, F. Allison, L. B. Hubbard. The chairman, Mr Applegate, in a few appropriate remarks, presented the medals won in the club championship races. It was proposed by Mr Soarell, and agreed to—“ That the uniform be changed from dark blue serge to some other color, with helmet in place of polo cap, and stockings to match, with single-breasted coat.” The racing rules made by committee were read and adopted. The secretary read his report of the last year’s c'.ub doings, and balance sheet, showing a credit of £3 8s 4d. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring officers, and the following runs were fixed for the month—4th, opening one of season to Kolleston ; 11th, Woodend ; 18th, moonlight to Southbridge; 25th, Governor’s Bay.
