MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to tho necessary alterations) as under : FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3. For Northern ports and Australian Colonies, per Rotomahana, at 3.15 p.m. ; late fee letters at 3.25 p.m., Ouard's van 4.5 p.m. train. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4. For Northern Ports, per Taiaroa, at 7 p.m. Guard's van must not be used for this mail. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &c, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on September 11th. This mail will be due in London on October 26th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), will close at Chriatchurch on September 22nd at 7 a.m. This mail will be due in London on November 11th. Notice.—The Post Office at Malvern has been closed for money orders and savings bank business on August 31st. The Post Office at Sheffield is constituted a money order and savings bank office from Ist September. The Post Office at Aylesbury has been re-opened from August 20th. SYDNEY J.
