MELBOURNE, August 24. The Duke of Manchester. It is announced that the Duke of Manchester will visit New Zealand during his stay in tho colonies. Sir Hercules at Melbourne. It is proposed to hold a race meeting here in Sir Hercules Robinson’s honor when he visits Melbourne on his way to England. The proposal meets with general approval in sporting circles. Angnst 26. Sir Hercules Robinson has accepted the invitation to the race meeting to be held here on September 16 th. There will be a large amount of added money to tho chief events. Sugar. Won by a length. ADELAIDE, August 25. Vote of Want of Confidence. In the Legislative Assembly Mr Bray has tabled a vote of want of confidence in the Government on the estimates. BRISBANE, August 26. A CrisisThe Opposition have revived their obstruction in the Assembly to the mail contract, and the Government now threaten to adjourn for three months without supply.
