THE SUICIDE OF MATTHEW HENDERSON.
With further regard to thi* overt, further telegrams state that there can bo bat little doubt but that Henderson and Miss High were in the act of eloping to San Francisco, and had not the charges of larceny and embezzlement been preferred against Henderson, it is equally certain that they would hare been able to carry out their project, Among the documents found on the person of the deceased was a letter containing a statement to the effect that both he and Miss Bligh premeditated suicide, he because of the conduct of his wife, and she because she did not care to live without him. The affair has caused quite a sensation in town. An inquest on the deceased will be held to-morrow.
WELLINGTON, August 19.
Miss Bligh passed a good night, and is progressing favorably from the effects of the poison,
