The ketch Catliu which arrived, this morning, from Gatlin’s River, jettisoned about 1500 ft of her deck cargo of timber during the passage. The following are the official letters -vessels named and expected at this Port: Crusader, 1058 tons, from London, HOLE, was to leave in June; Halcione, 843 tons, JNMS, sailed May 30th; *. och Cree.79l tons. MSQV, sailed June 3rd ; Waitangi, 1128 tons, NFMS, -was to leave in June; Hedwigf, brig, 227 tons, MSDW, lett New York May 6th ; Hieronymous, barque, 434 tons, IKQH, was to foUow the Hedwig. . _ , Messrs Money Wigram’s steamer Durham, which is to leave London for here next month, will come to Messrs Shaw, Savdl and Co.’s agents here, and is to load at this port for Home. The s.s. Northumberland, belonging to the same line, will he despatched by the New Zealand Shipping Company from Homo in October, and ike the Durham, will load here for London. The Union Company’s s.s. Taiaroa, Captain Malcolm, arrived on Saturday at 10 a.m., from Monnkau, having left there on the morning of the 10th, called at Taranaki, Nelson, Picton, and Wellington. The Taiaroa left on Saturday night for Wellington with the English mail for the San Francisco steamer. . The vessels lying at the wharves last night vere ._Nb, 1, Helen Denny, Samarkand, Absmyte, Geraldine Paget, JEthelred, Loch Awe- No. 3, Canoma, Aminta. Mary King; No. 4, Jannett, Esther. Remington, Elizabeth Curie ; No. 5, Spray, Clio, Silver Eagle, May, Orpheus ; No. 6, Emperor, Marion, Enterprise; No. 7, Emerald, Hero, Camille, Aurora, Kenilworth, Tanranga, Richard and Mary. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. ♦ Bluff, August 16. The Arawata arrived at 7 a.m. to-day, and sails at 5 p.m. for Dunedin. The Union Company have instructed their pursers not to supply the press with passenger or cargo lists. Wellington, August 15. Arrived —Go-Ahead from Castle Point and Napier, Hinemoa from Lyttelton, Hannah Barrett from Dunedin, Endeavour from Osmarn, Rodell, barque, from Glasgow, Te Anau from Auckland, Taiaroa from the South, Wanaka from Picton and Nelson, Bangatira from Mannkau and the North. Sailed—Wanaka at 4 p.m. with tho San SVancisco mail for Taranaki and Mannkau.
