The Australian Eleven. Bonner made top score with 52, and was caught out. The homo team then went in for their second innings, hut only succeeded in scoring 54, and the Australians thus won the match in one innings with 38 runs to spare. August 14. An Ugly ReportIt is currently reported at St. Petersburg that Ayoub Khan and Ahdur Rahman are acting in collusion. Revival of Fenianism. A large number of supposed Fenian ommissaries have arrived in Ireland. Four hundred rifles have been purchased at Dublin, and been taken to Cork. It is suspected that a complete Fenian organism now exists in Ireland. The Loss of the Hydaspes. An inquiry has been held into the cause of the collision which took place on the 18th of last month between the steamer Centurion and the sailing ship Hydaspes, off Dungeness, by which the latter vessel was sunk. The Court finds that both vessels were to blame for the collision. Meeting of Home RnlersA large meeting of Home Rulers has been held at Glasgow. Thirty thousand Irishmen attended the meeting. CAPETOWN, August 14. Submisssion of the Basutos. The Basutos, the inhabitants of the territory to the west of Natal, have at last submitted to the colonial troops. WASHINGTON, August 14. Shocking Railway Accident. A railway collision has taken place at New Jersey, when two excursion trains collided, resulting in forty-seven being killed and wounded. CALCUTTA,“August 14. News from Candahar. Latest intelligence from Candahar is disquieting, owing to various tribes flocking to join Ayouh Khan’s forces.' Hostile attitude continues on the increase, and active warlike preparations are being made by Ayoub Khan for the purpose of making an assault on Candahar.
