MAIL NOTICES.
Mails olose at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, AUGUST 14. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c. per Taiaroa, as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m.; lato fee letters, at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; money orders, at 4 p.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m.; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will be due in london on September 28th. MONDAY, AUGUST 16. For Northern Ports, per Go-Ahea3, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee lettors at 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. TUESDAY, AUGUST 17. For Otago and Australian Colonies, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard'i van, 2.40 p.m. train. HFor Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 3.15 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 3.25 p.m. ; guard's Tan, 3.55 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will close at Christchurch on August 25th, at 7 a.m. Mail will be due in London on October 16th. Notice. —The Post Office at Malvern will be closed for money orders and savings bank business on the 31st iuat. The Poat Office at Sheffield will be constituted a money order and savings bank office from Ist September next. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
