MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per express (to connect with s.s. Rotomahana, at Bluff) at 7 a.m.; Intofee letters may bo posted in tho Post Office van attached to tho express train. For Otago, per Wakatipn, at 3.15 p.m. ; lato fee letters, at 3.25 p.m. ; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. THURSDAY, AUGUST 12. For Northern Ports, per Rotorua, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, at 325 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. For Akaroa and Otago, per Hawea, at 11.25 a.m. ; lato fee letters at 11.35 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m train. SATURDAY, AUGUST 14. For the United Kingdom, Continents of .Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &0., rer Taiaroa, as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6,30 p.m.; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m,; money orders, at 4 p m.; registered letters, at 5 p m. ; guard’s van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will bo due in London on September 28th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &c., via Brindisi, will close at Christchurch on August 25th, at 7 a.m. Mail will bo duo in London on October 16th.
