MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office fop the following places (sabjeot to the necessary alterations) as mdpr SATURDAY, AUGUST 5. For Ports, per Hawea, at 7 p.m. Guard's van must not be used for this mail. TUESDAY, AUGUST 10. For Otago ana Australian Colonies, per Rotomahana. THURSDAY, AUGUST 12. For Northern Ports, per Rotorua The next mail for the United Kingdom, &c, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on August 14th. Mail will be due in London on September 28th. The npxt mail for the United Kingdom, Ac, via Brindisi, will close at Christchurch on August 25th, at 7 a.m. Mail will bo due in London on October 16th. A Post-office has been opened at Elgin, in the district of Ashburton, from Ist August. BYDNKY J. DIOK, Chief Postmaster.
