MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office [for the (allowing places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, JULY 31. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 7 p.m. Guard’s van must not be used for this mail. TUESDAY, AUGUST 3. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Bingarooma, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters at 2.J0 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &0., via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on August 14th. Mail will be due in London on September 28th. Notice— The Post-office at Leithfield will be closed for Money Order and Savings Bank business on 31st July. A Post-office will be opened at Elgin, in the district of Ashburton, from Ist August next.
