MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following plaoes (subject to the necessary altera* lions) as under: — MONDAY, JULY 26. For Kaikonra and Northern ports, per Tui, at 4.20 p.m. ; late fee letters at 4.35 p.m.; guard's van. 5.25 p.m. train. TUESDAY, JULY 27. For Otago and Australian colonies, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 4.20p.m.!; late fee letters at 4.35 p.m.; guard's van, 5.25 p.m. train. _ WEDNESDAY, JULY 28. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c, per express train, to connect with s.s. Arawata, at the Bluff, as follows :—Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6 a.m. Registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27th. Money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling pobt-office van attached to the express train, on Wednesday, July 28th. This mail will be due in London on September 18th. Note.—The Erindisi letter rate of postage for the United Kingdom is 8d per half-ounce. Ihenext mail for the United Kingdom, &c, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on August 14th.
