MAGISTRATES' COURTS.
OHRISTCHTJROH. Satttbday, July 24. {Before G. L. Lee, Esq., J.P., and J. E. Parker, Esq., J.P.] DutmrKBNHBSS.—A first offender was fined 6s. Thomas Scetter, who was oharged with the double offence of being drunk at Addington and using obscene language, pleaded " Guilty," and was ordered to pay a penalty of 20a. Daniel John Clifford was fined 10a for drunkenness. Obscene Language.—Patrick Ryan admitted having used obscene language in High street, but when the words written on paper were handed to him, he denied the offence. Constable Whitly proved it, and a fine of 20s • was inflicted. Embezzlement. —Thomas Howard Turner pleaded guilty to a charge of embezzling £5, the property of Messrs Mason, Struthers and Co. Inspector O'Donnel asked for a remand until the 30th, as there were other charges of a similar nature pending against accused. He was remanded accordingly, the subject of bail not being mentioned. Resisting the Pomce. —Neil Beaton was charged with resisting Constable MoDavitt in the execution of his duty, and fined 15s.
