MASONIC.

The ceremony of consforation of the Malvern Lodge, 1C 0., and the inetallation of the W. M. and o(Boers took place on Wednesday evening in the schoolroom, Kowai Pass. A number of brethren from Christchurch attended, in addition to the R-W". Diet. G. Master, Bro. H. Thomson, who performed the ceremony. The following brethren assisted the R.W. Diet. G.M. in carrying out the consecration and installation : Acting Deputy District Grand Master, Bro. J. li. Fleming ; Acting District Grand Chaplain, Bro. O. A. Hardy,"; Acting District jGrand Senior Warden, Bro.'Jubal Fleming ; Acting District Grand Junior Warden, Bro. H. W. Ford ; Acting District Grand Registrar, Bro. TT. Williamson; Acting District Grand Senior Deacon, Bro. M. Sandstein ; Acting District Grand Junior Deacon, Bro. J. Hammill ; Acting District Grand Inner Guard, Bro. J. Wood. At the conclusion of the ceremony of consecration the following brethren were installed as the first officers of the Malvern Lodge—Bro. Peter Murray, W.M. ; D. Jebson, S.W. ; H. Davies, J.W. ; H. Williamson, treasurer and secretary ; T. Forster, B.D. ; A. Reid, J.D. ; R. Jebson, I. ;J. Wood, tyler. At the conclusion of the installation, a lanquet took place at Bro. Davies’ Kowai Pars Hotel. The banquet waa excellently served ; indeed, it would have done infinite credit to any city hotel. The usual masonic toasts were given and duly honoured, and a most enjoyable evening spent. It may be mentioned that letters of apology were received from various lodges expressing their regret that they could not be present, and wishing the Malvern lodge every success. The visiting brethren were most hospitably entertained by the resident members of the craft, and one of the pleasantest gatherings in connection with Masonry oamo to a close.
