MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to tho necessary alterations) as under WEDNESDAY, JULY 21. For Otago, Tasmania, and Australian Colonies, per express train (to connect with Tararua at Bluff), at 7 a.m. Letters may be posted in the travelling Post Office van attached to tho 8.20 a.m. train. For Northern ports and Australian colonies per Wakatipu, at 150 p.m.; late fee letters at 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train THURSDAY, JULY 22. For Northern ports, per Eingarooma. WEDNESDAY, JULY 28, For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c., per express train, to connect with s.s. Arawata, at the Bluff, as follows :—Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6 a.m. Eegistered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27th. Money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27th. Late fee letters may be posted in tho travelling post-office van attached to the express train, on Wednesday, July 28th. This mail will be due in London on September 18th. Note. —The Brindisi letter rate of postage for the United Kingdom is 8d per half-ounce. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, &0., via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on August 14th.
