MAIL NOTICES.
Mails olose at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subjeot to the necesßary alterations) as under.SATURDAY, JULY 17. For tho United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, Australian Colonies (except Tasmania), &c, per Hawea, as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; money orders, at 4 p.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m.; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on August 31st. For Kaikoura, per Tui, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. TUESDAY, JULY 20. For Northern ports and Australian colonies (except Tasmania), per Wakatipu. THURSDAY, JULY 22. For Northern ports, per Ringarooma. The next mail outwards via Brmdisi will close at Christchurch at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, 28th July. Mail will be due in London on 18th September. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
