RAILWAY EMPLOYES MEETING.
The adjourned meeting of railway employes wag held in the waggon shed yesterday afternoon, at half-past four o’clock. The chairman of the committee reported what had been done, and read the petition to Parliament in reference to the proposed reduction in the wages of the men. The petition, being that originally agreed upon at Monday’s meeting, was then adopted without material alteration. A discussion ensued as to which of the city members it should be sent to, and the meeting finally resolved that Mr Bichardson saould be asked to take charge of it. It was also decided that copies should be sent to each member of the House, and arrangements were made for providing the necessary expense as to printing and stationery. The committee held a meeting in the evening, at 7.30, when it was resolved that copies of the petition should immediately be forwarded to Wellington, and that the members of both Houses of Parliament be supplied with the text of it. A meeting of the committee will be hold to-day to make final arrangements.
