FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the sub-committee appointed at the late meeting of delegates from the various friendly societies was held last night. Present —Messrs. Nathan (Druids), Gapes and Buckley (A.O.F), O. Lezard and G. E. Hart (1.0.0.F.,A.0.). A conversational discussion ensued as to the constitution of the association, the point being raised whether it should take the form of a board of delegates from contributing lodges, or whether it should bo composed of individual members, paying a fee. The point raised being considered of great importance, it was resolved to adjourn the meeting till Tuesday next, in order to allow of the presence of the delegates from the Manchester Unity and the remaining representatives of the Druids. The meeting then adjourned until 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday next.
