BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION.

The usual weekly meeting of the committee of the Benevolent Association waa held yesterday, at 2 p.m. Present—The Mayor, Messrs Morton, Hargreaves, Kosewarno, Pratt, Mitchell, and Ollivier. Several accounts were passed for payment. The Mayor reported that the credit balance at the Bank amounted to £195 10s 7d. Subscriptions were banded in amounting to £6, and 5s lOid was reported as the proceeds of the donation box. Mr Alpe was appointed as caretaker. A letter was read from Mr A. Mitchell, offering to give a benefit at the Oddfellows’ Hall in aid of the funds of the Association. It was resolved to decline the offer with thanks.
