This is by far the quickest passage on record, being about three hours less than that made by the Kotomahana last year. Both vessels were built and engined by Messrs Denny, of Dumbarton. The dimensions of the Bavenna are — Length, 380 f t; breadth, 40ft; and depth, 29ft. Tonnage, 3340 gross ; nominal horse-power, 700.
