A man who had a particularly ugly daughter succeeded in ringing her in (with a wedding ring) on a man who had been blind for many years. Some time after the marriage a famous oculist visited Paris, and the remarkable nature of his cures having boon bruited abroad, it was proposed to have him cure the blind man. “ Not for millions !’ cried the father-in-law, in horror.
