[Br Tbebqbaph ] [Per b.b. Albion at Hokitika.] VICTORIA. Numerous petitions in favor of the Reform Bill have been presented to the House. Others are in course of signature. The Harbor Trust Bill was read a second time by 54 to 4. Mr Madden voted against the motion. The Court has granted a rule nisi calling cn Bailliera to show cause why a now trial should not be held, on the ground that the verdict was against the evidence regarding one of the items in the amounts claimed. NEW SOUTH WALES. In the Assembly on June 23rd, ths debate ■was resumed on the Budget. Mr Watson, the Treasurer, defended his proposals. The debate was further adjourned. The Marine Board has suspended the certificates of the officers of the Australian Sovereign, recently wrecked at New Caledonia. Heavy frosts have much injured the young sugar plants in the Clarence district. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Returns have been laid on the table showing that 30,000 square miles have been applied for in the Northern Territory. QUEENSLAND. Mr Douglas, the ex-Premier, in a speech at Maryborough, to his constituents, condemned the prolonged absence of Mr Mollwraith in England. He considered that the new mail service was unnecessary, and advocated a medium between protection and free trade. He was in favor of the trans-Continental line.
