MELBOURNE, Juno 30. War to the Knife. At a mooting of Ministerialists held yesterday it was resolved to maintain Mr Service’s Reform scheme in its integrity, and to contest every seat in the forthcoming elections. SYDNEY, June 30. The Wool and Stock Taxes. In the Legislative Assembly last night the new wool and stock taxes were carried by a large majority. Gold Medal. The only gold medal for watches at the Exhibition has been awarded to the Waltham Watch Company. MELBOURNE, June 29. The Suez Mail. Arrived —P. and O. Company’s steamer Assam, from Galle, with the inward Suez mail, which left London on May 21th. The Dissolution. Parliament has been dissolved, and the new elections will be held on July 24th.
Ned Kelly.
Ned Kelly has reached Melbourne, and is progressing favorably. Flesh wounds only have been found, which are not likely to prove fatal. The child belonging to Jones, the hotel keeper, at Glenrowan, whore the affray took place, is dead. Shipping. Sailed—Tararua, for the Bluff. The Governor on the Crisis. The official correspondence between the Governor and Mr Service, the Premier, has been published, from which it is shown that the former unhesitatingly granted a dissolution, as ho considered the settlement of the reform of the constitution absolutely necessary.
