MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary altera* tions) as under : TUESDAY, JUNE 29. For Northern ports, per Wellington, at 7 p.m. The guard’s yan must not be used for this mail, WEDNESDAY. JUNE 30. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Ringarooma. at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train, THURSDAY, JULY 1. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Gape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c., per express train, to connect with s.s. P.ingarooma at the Bluff, as follows :—Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6 a.m. Registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Juno 30th. Money orders, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post-office van attached to the express train, on Thursday, July 1. This mail will be duo in London on August 21st. Note. —The Brindisi letter rate of postage for the United Kingdom is 8d per half-ounce. For Northern ports and Australian Colonies, via Sydney, per Arawata. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on July 17, and will bo duo in London on August 31.
