The Annabella was moved to one of the oater berths at the Gladstone Pier yesterday to admit the Hudson, requiring one of the shed berths. The Hudson was brought in and commences to discharge to-day. The barque Annabella, bound from Sydney to London, and which put into thia port in distress some time since, has had considerable repairs done to her at the bands of Mr Flett. During the progress oi theso necessary repairs, other elements of weakness in her have been discovered, and either have received some attention at the hands of the shipwrights or are in course of treatment. Some very unfavourable comments have also found currency as to the aotnal condition of the vessel's hull, strong opinions being expressed that she should not be permitted to leave the port under any repairs short of heaving her down, stripping portions of her and thoroughly recaulking aueh parts _ as are found to require it. How far those opinions are warranted by actual facta could only be known, of course, by subjecting the vessel to the overhaul indicated, but befora the barque is permitted to proceed on her voyage nothing Bhort of the most thorough inquiry into her condition should be accepted as sutisf *ctsry.
