THE FIRE POLICE.
To the Iditor of the Qlobe. Sib, —Can you inform me whether the Fire Police are still existing as a recognised corps, or only as private individuals ? My reason for asking is that for many months past no meetings of the members have been held, no returns made of the fires attended by the force, or anything else done which would tend to show that the Fire Police, as a body, was still in existence. At the last three or four fires some of the (supposed) members have invariably turned out, but as a rule the officers have been conspicuous by their absence, therefore no roll has been called, and those that do attend get no credit for their punctuality. As I am not aware that the corps has been disbanded, I think it is time that a meeting of the members should be at once called by those in charge, so that we shall know exactly how we stand with regard to the present constitution or otherwise of the body. Your.=, &c, AN OLD MEMBEB.
