Pilliett, Esqs., J.P.’e] Dbunkbhnbss.—Margaret Stanton alias Clarke, an old offender, waa discharged on the understanding that she joined her husband at Timaru. Three first offenders were dealt with, and John Sullivan, in addition to a fine, was ordered to pay 4s for damages committed. SUNDAY Teading. —Henry Marks was summoned for trading on Sunday, the 13th June. At the request of Sub-Inspector O’Donnell the hearing of this case was postponed until the 30:h instant, as Mr Joyut, who was engaged to conduct the prosecution, waa unable to attend at present. Assault.—Edward Butt summoned Wm. Smith for nsjaulting him. A woman was at the bottom of tho trouble, and as the assault complained of was of a very trumpery nature, the Bench dismissed the case. LYTTELTON. e Friday, June 25. {[Before J. Beswick, Esq., E.M., and T. H. Potts, Esq., J.P.] i Lunacy. Alexander Drummond, was charged with, lunacy, on remand from Kai- i koura. Tho accused had given himself up to i the police there, stating that ho was one of the Kelly gang from Victoria. He was sent j to Sunnyside for medical treatment. ' Oitid Oases.—Hardeoke v Joseph Fletcher, 1 claim £2 14s; judgment for plaintiff. Same 1 v Daley, claim £5 11s lOd ; judgment by consent. Same v Ohristello, claim £7 2s ; Mr Nalder for de f endant. A set-off was filed and admitted. This waa a rehearing brought at the instance of tho defendant, and after hearing tho evidence the former judgment of the Court for the plaintiff was upheld.
