PIONEER LODGE, 1.0.G.T.

The first of a series of monthly open meetings in connection with this lodge wai held on Monday eveniog last, at St. Mary's schoolroom, Addington. The weather was not very inviting, but did not deter a fairly large audience from being present. The chair was taken by the W.S. of St. Andrew's Lodge (Mr Ogier). The following programme was gone through, and much applause was elicited. Quartettes by Mrs Heath, Mr Heath, Master Heath, and Mr Epworth; solos by Mr Clarke and Mr Epworth ; recitations by Messrs Thompson and Davidson j an address by Mr Laing, and a very humorous reading by the same gentleman, a dialogue entitled the *' Lifeboat," was really excellently performed. The evening concluded by Binging the closing ode of tho Order. Miss Msrriner's piano accompaniment was much admired.
