MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary altera, lions) as under : THURSDAY, JUNE 17. For Kaikonra, per Tni, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m.; guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Tararua, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Potts, New South Wales, and Queensland, per’Rotorua at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m. guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, New South Wales and Queensland, per Norfolk, at 5 p.m.; late fee letters, 5.15 p.m. ; guard’s van, 6.30 p.m. train. SATURDAY, JUNE 19. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Now South Wales, Queensland, Northern Ports of New Zealand, <sc., per Taiaroa, as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6,30 p.m.; late fee letters, at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m,; money orders, at 4 p.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m.; guard’s van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on August 3rd. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (far specially addressed correspondence only), will be closed at Christchurch on July Ist, and will be due in London on August 21st. The Post Offices at Christchurch and Lyttelton will be open every Saturday night, from half-past six until a quarter to eight o’clock, for the purpose of receiving Savings’ Bank deposits only.
