Drunkenness. —One man for a first offence of this kind was dismissed with a caution. Failing to Pbotidb. —Frederick Lane, who was remanded from June 2nd, again appeared, and, showing that arrangements have been made for the maintenance of his family, was ordered to pay his wife 15s per week, her own earnings to be protected. Laboeny.— -John Kelly pleaded guilty to selling a coat, value 20s, the property of Geo. Judd. The actual theft of the coat by prisoner was not proved, bnt being "an old offender, well known to the Bench and the police, he was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour. Vagrancy,— lsabella Leokie, on remand from yesterday, produced an order for admission to the Refuge, and was handed over to the police for safe conveyance to that place. Stealing from Shops. —Richard Wood, charged with stealing goods and money, the property of B. Cass and the New Zealand Clothing Factory, was remanded till Monday next for the production of further evidence. Teansfbe of License. —The license of the Garrick Hotel was transferred from W. H. Bennett to Jos. Hadfleld.
