The barque Assel was towed to the stream yesterday. .... The three nine-and-a-half tons weight locomotives, imported by the Government in the Trevelyan, were safely landed yesterday under tho supervision of the station-master, Mr B. R. Bradley. . The Trevelyan is landing her cargo in splendid order, and has about 400 tons of grain on board towards her home cargo. The s.s. Tui arrived yesterday from Kaikoura, and sailed last night for that port, Wellington, and Foxton. , The Croydon Lass, from Waitapu, and Prince Alfred, from Kaipara, arrived yesterday, timber laden. The New Zealand Shipping Company s ship Orari is making good progress with her cargo, and will get away for London on her advertised date, June 24th. The p.s. Titan arrived on Tuesday night from Dunedin, where she has been employed in her capacity of a tng boat for some time past. The Titan was a long time at this port doing towing service for the shipping prior to the introduction of the Harbor Board’s steamer Lyttelton, and daring her stay at Dunedin she was thoroughly overhauled and renewed in many respects. She is owned by Messrs. Cameron Bros., the stevedores here. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, June 9. Arrived—Bigno, from the South Sea Islonda, Wild Wave from Newcastle, after a terrible passage. She had four feet of water in her hold, her pumps were choked, and 160 baps of bone dust and a quantity of coal had to be jettisoned. , , , Sailed—Wanaka. for the South, yesterday. Passengers—For New Plymouth, Mrs Goldwater and Cargill; for Wellington, Mr Brown ; for Dunedin, Mr Anderson. Eingarooma, for Sydney. The Eev. C. Melville Pym was a passenger by her. Timaru, June 9. Sailed—Kate McGregor, schooner, for Auckland; Owake, schooner, forWaitara —both produce laden ; Mercia, barque, for London, with 1100 tons grain. Port Chalmers, June 9. Arrived Shag, s.s., from Shag Point ; Kakanui, s.s., from Invercargill; Arawata, s.s., from Auckland via tho East Coast; Pensee, French brigantine, from Mauritius. Sailed Hnon Bells, ketch, for Gatlin’s River; Ino, s.s., for Kakanui; St. Kilda, s.s., for North.
