PROPERTY SALE.

On Saturday last Messrs H. Matson and Co. held a sale of town properties and farm lands at their sale rooms in Cashel street. There was a good attendance, but by no means any spirited competition, which one might expect by tbe largo audiences that are usually seen every week at these sale rooms. The first property on the catalogue was a farm with dwelling house and improvements, and containing 99 acres, in the occupation of Mr W. Flemming, situate at Longbeach; after some languid bids, it was passed in at .£l3 per acre. The next, a freehold property, with butcher’s shop and improvements thereon, in the occupation of Mr Cnlliford, having a frontage on Victoria street and Durham street, was passed in at a bid of .£I6OO. _ Three sections of land, each i-acre, in tbe Linwood estate, and fronting on Cashel street, not obtaining tbe reserve price, were passed in at .£SO each. Five bnilding sites in the Berwick estate, with frontages on Hereford street, shared the same fate. The next property was part town sections 221 and 222, containing 1 rood 7 perches, situated at the junction of Peterborough street east and Cambridge terrace, with a two-story seven-roomed bonseond a five-roomed cottage thereon, with a very large frontage to tbe river and Peterborough street, was sold for .£lOlO. House and i-acre land in Kilmoro street east failed to obtain a bid.
