Mails close at the 1 hiof Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — MONDAY, MAY 31. For Otago, per Maori, at 1i.25 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.33 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Eangatira, at 3.15 p m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m ; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. TUESDAY, JUNE 1. For Otago aud Australian Colonies, per Rotomahana. THURSDAY, JUNE 3. For Northern Porta and Australian Colonies, via Sydney, per Ringarooma. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (far correspondence specially addressed only), will be closed at Christchurch on Jane 3rd, and wid be dne in London on July 24th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Sai Francisco, will be closed at Christchn:ch on Jnae 19, and will be dne in London on An Tnst3. The Post Offices at Christchurch and Lyttelton will be open every Saturday night, from half-past six until a quarter to eight o’clock, for the purpose of receiving Savings’ Bank deposits only. Notice—The Post-office called Springbank, at the Moeraki railway station, will bo closed from 21st instant. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
