MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Offioe for the following places (subject to tho necessary alterations) as under: — WEDNESDAY, MAT 26. For Australian Colonies, per express train (to connect with s.s. Rotorua, at Port Chalmers) at 7.30 a.m. TUESDAY, MAY 27. For Akaroa, per Wanaka. For Kaikoura, per Tui, at 4.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m.; guard's van, 5.25 p.m. train. SATURDAY, MAY 29. For Northern Ports, per Tairoa. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for correspondence specially addressed only), will be closed at Christchurch on Juno 3rd, and will be due in London on July 24th. The Post Offices at Christchm-ch and Lyttelton will be open every Saturday night, from half-past six until a quarter to eight o'clock, for the purpose iof receiving Savings' Bank deposits only. Notice—Tho Post-office called Springbank, at the Moeraki railway Btation, will bo closed from 21st instant. SYDNEY J. DICE, Chief Postmaster.
