MAIL NOTICES.
Wails close at the ( hiof Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — FRIDAY, MAY 21. For Northern Ports of New Zeiland and Australian f'olonics, via Sydney, perTararua, at 3.15 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3 25 p.m. ; guard's van, 3.55 p.m. train. SATURDAY, MAY 22. For tin United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan, &c. (via San Francisco), irandwich Islands, New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Wanaka, as follows : —Ordinary letters, at 6,30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; money orders, at 4 p.m. ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. ; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on July 6th. TUIvSDAY, MAY 25. For Otago and Australian colonies, per RotoWEDNESDAY, MAY 26. For Australian Colonies, per express train (to connect with s.s. Rotorua, at Port Chalmers) at 7.30 a.m. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindi-i (fer correspondence specially addressed only), will be closed at Chriatchnrch on Jane 3rd, and will bo due in London on July 24th. The Post Offices at Chri3tchurch and Lyttelton will be open every S iturday night, from half-past sis until a quarter to eight o'clock, for the purpose of receiving Savings' Bank deposits only.
