The Derby Stakes of this club were com menced to be run off ye-terday at Malvern. Bares were not very plentiful The weather was magnificent, and the attendance was good. The following are the results : Mr J. P. Miles’ Champagne Charlie beat Mr E. B Hill’s Field Marshal, and killed. Mr W. Gannon's Seafield beat Mr C. Amyes’ Blair Athol. Mr T. Basket’s Hornby beat Mr E. P. Hill s Kate, and killed. Mr E. Cookson’s Beaeonsfield beat Mr W. H. Porter’s Maori, and killed. Mr E. B. Hill’s Brigade beat Mr W. H. Bodge’s Knick knack. Mr B. Thomson's Shamrock beat Mr E. P. Hill’s Jasper. Mr B. Mason’s Yaldhnrst beat Mr W. Q. Judge’s Bredivardine. Mr W. McFadden’s Tim Whifflar ran a bye. For the Canterbury Oaks, the first couple only were slipped, Mr E. P. Hill’s Peeress beating Flying Fish.
