It lias been announced that the measures to be introduced by Mr Gladstone's Ministry having referenco to Ireland will be confined to legislation for the relief of the distress existing in that country. CONSTANTINOPLE, May 17. The Execution of Heli. The assassin of Colonel Comnieroff, the lato attache to the Russian Embassy here, has not yet suffered the sentence of death passed upon him. The Sultan, it appears, made a proposal to the Czar of Russia, who had previously demanded the execution of the assassin, that the death sentence should be commuted. issued a proclamation of independence, communications have been exchanged between the Great Powers, and the Ambassadors have consequently demanded the despatch of Turkish troops to surround the Albanian districts. The Great Powers will in no way countenance the independence of that province, and it has been found imperative for Prince Orlofi* to resume his post there.
