MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subjost to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, MAY 15. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7 p.m. The guard's ran must not bo used for this mail. TUESDAY, MAT 18. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Te Anau, at 3.15 p m. ; late fee Utters, 3.25 p.m.; jf uard'a van, 3.55 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, May 22nd, as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m.; late foe letters, at 7 p.m. books and newspapers, at 6 p.m,; money orders, at 4 p.m.; regLiter.wl.ietters, at 5 p.m.; gu-ird's van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail -will be due in London on July 6th. The next man for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for correspondence specially addressed only), will be closed at Christchurch on June 3rd, and will be due in London on July 24th Notice.—The Post Office at the Weka Pass Railway Works has been reopened at Mr Woodhouse's store. The Post Offices at Christchuroh and I.yttelton will be ppea every Saturday night, from half-past sis until a quarter to eight o'clock, for. the purpose of receiving Savings' Bank deposits only. .
