Owing to the formation of boroughs, the revenue of Westland county has greatly declined. In 1877 the county revenue was £17,335 9s 5d ; in 1878 it wrs £11.864 Is Id ; and in 1879 it was only £11,438 7s, including an advance of £2OOO at the end of the year on account of gold duty. This advance being deducted, loaves the ordinary revenue for 1878 at only a little more than £9OOO
