MAIL NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — *• TUESDAY, MAT 11.
For Cape Town, per Sunb'amJ (for specially addressed correspondence only),‘at 9.50 a.m. ; late fee letters, 10.10 a.m.; guard’s van, 10.30 a.m. train.
For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Eingarooma, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 355 pm. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train.
The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on May 22nd, and will be due in London on July 6th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for correspondence specially addressed only), will be closed at Christchurch on June 3rd, and will be due in London on July 24th. Notice.—The Post Office at the Weka Pass Eailway Works has been re-opened at Mr Woodhonse’s store.
The Post Offices at Christchurch and Lyttelton will bo open every Saturday night, from half-past six until a quarter to eight o’clock, for the purpose of receiving Savings’ Bank deposits only. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
