MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under FRIDAY, MAY 7. For Cape Town, per Sunbeam (for specially addressed letters only), at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian colonies, via Sydney, per Rotomahana, at 3.15 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. SATURDAY, MAY 8. For Wanganui and Westport, par St. Kilda, at 1.50 p m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. TUESDAY, MAT 11.
For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Bingarooma.
The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on May 22nd, and will be due in London on July 6th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) will be closed at Christchurch on June 3rd, and will be due in London on July 24. Notice.—The Post Office at the Weka Pass Railway Works has been re-opened at Mr Woodhouse’s store.
The Post Offices at Christchurch and Lyttelton will be open every Saturday night, from half-past six until a quarter to eight o’clock, for the purpose of receiving Savings’ Bank deposits only. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
