CORN EXCHANGE.
A committee meeting was held at the Corn Exchange on Saturday last. Present —The Vic«-Chairman, Mr Peryman, Messrs Leadley, Bailey, Gammack, Allington, and Ovorton. Tho Chairman stated that the object in calling them togethor was not for the transaction of any particular business, but that the interest takon in the institution should not be allowed to fl.\g. A very considerable timo had now elapsed eince a committee meeting had been held. If this continued, he thought it would bo prejudicial to the interests of tho Corn Exchange. He was also desirous .f ascertaining their financial position. je-third of the year had already elapsed nd it behoved them to consider how cur rot expenses were to bo met. He would notr call on the secrotary to state what money they had in hand. The secrotary stated that £IOO had been received in subscriptions out of 300 subscribers, and that about £ls had been earned in commission on sales. Mr Bailey proposed, and Mr Overton seconded—" That a list of members who had not paid their subscriptions be furnishod to the committeemen, so that they might assist the secretary in collecting the fee 3." It was resolved that the committee meet next Saturday at two o'clock, and the meeting thon terminated.
