PROPERTY SALE.

At the salerooms of Messrs H. Matson and Co., on Saturday last, a large sale of very valuable city and suburban properties was held. The attendance was large, but the biddings very slow. Four allotments in High street, having a frontage of 27ft. by a depth of 85£t., after great persuasion by the auctioneer. Mr Walton, failed to find a purchaser. The Waterton Hotel, two sections on Bedford row, a section at the corner of Manchester strict and Bedford row, land at Addington, and 478 acres at the Bakaia, shared the same fate. A 2000-acre farm on the north bank of the Bakaia was passed in at XI 5s per acre. A section of land at the corner ef Worcester street and Manchester street, having a frontage of 51ft. to Manchester street and 72ft. to Worcester street, was sold to Mr Eobert Bay, of Horndon, at XlB per oot. The total amount realised was X 972.
