Mails close at tho Chief Post Ofiico for tho following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, MAT 1. For Northern ports, per Wunaba, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. MONDAY, MAY 3. For Nelson and Westport, per Grafton, at 12.45 p m.; late fee letters, 1 p.m.; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. TUESDAY, MAY 4. For Otago and Australian colonies, per Arawata. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindis-i (for specially addressed correspondence only), will be closed at Christchnrch on May 6th, and will be due in London on June 26th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will he closed at Christchnrch on May 22nd, and will be duo in London on July 6th. BYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
